PROFILE
Name: James Nolan
Age :18
Occupation: Graphic Designer
I was one of the first boys to attend Black Boys Can when it started up. I was there for three years and it was a real help to me as it gave me that little bit of extra support with my schoolwork. Going to Black Boys Can and doing lots of revision obviously helped as I managed to get all 10 of my GCSE's grades A-C.
I became interested in graphic design when my sister did a degree in it at university. When she had to do an assignment on the computer at home I would sit by her and watch or give my advice. I then began to play about with "Photoshop" (a design package graphic designers often use), in my free time and from there my interest grew.
I decided that art was the direction I wanted to go in, so I enrolled into Matthew Boulton College and took a course in graphic design. During my course my sister and I would often talk about what it would be like to one day have our own businesses but then decided that as we are both really into the arts and get on really well, we thought that we could make an excellent brother and sister team. So after a few months of talking about it and doing our research we decided to 'just do it', and so Asher Arts was born.
We're still in the startup stage at the moment and we're learning a lot, but our goal is to always provide fresh, high quality work that we are proud of and that meet our client's needs and vision.
